4-Rivers Jayco, Flight 9
January 2003 Newsletter

The 4-Rivers Jayco Club – Flight 9 had its January meeting at the home of Odell & Deirdre Allbritten.  The following members were in attendance - Odell & Deirdre Allbritten, Jim & Mitzi Borum, Steve & Judy Dawson, Dennie & Elsie Hinkle, Randy & Vicki Knight, Bob & Wanda Ray, Bill & Betty Ryan, George & Mary Taylor, Dale & Jan Wright.  Friends who joined us were Eugene & Faye Burden, John & Cynthia Haley, Bob & Mary Lauderdale, Bob & Patsy Snow.

We all enjoyed pizza, salad and birthday cake, along with lots of fellowship.  Happy Birthday to Odell Allbritten and Dennie Hinkle!  After dinner and lots of visiting we all gathered for the business meeting.  Dale called the meeting to order.  Vicki read the minutes.  Deirdre reminded Vicki to add the year to the newsletter.  Minutes were accepted as read.  Dale announced that Wagon Master Kenny and his wife were on a trip.

Under old business, Dale asked if we wanted to keep our website.  Faye thought that a web address would cost about $72.00 per year, (about $6.00) per month.  Faye suggested we take a vote to see who would like to keep the web site.  Dale asked for a vote and it passed.  Faye will check on the cost of web address and a domain name.  She will let us know her results via e-mail.

Steve gave a treasurers report.  Denny closed the old checking account with a balance of $430.01.  Steve will now open an account at a bank near him.

Under new business, Dale reminded us that Ray & Donna Horning will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary and suggested that we sent them $25.00 and a card.  A vote was taken and passed.  Dale & Jan will send a card with the money in it tonight.

Under rally business – Deirdre said she needs the address for the Jayco Plant.  Dale will get that to her.  Also she made 125 flyers for Youngblood’s RV Center.  She also has flyers for the members of Flight 9.  It was brought to our attention that we are sharing a weekend with the Illinois State Rally.  Hopefully this won’t cost us campers!  Dennie said he still had a few hats left from the last rally if anyone needs or wants them.

Dale asked Eugene to check on the May Campout at the Casino Queen in St. Louis.  Eugene said he made 15 reservations at $18.43 per night.  The deposit is refundable 24hrs. Prior to arrival.  You will receive a breakfast coupon for each person in your unit.  The following have paid    Odell Allbritten (3nights), Ryan’s (3 nights), Taylor’s (4 nights), Burdens (at least 3 nights).  The following have reservations and need to pay Steve for one night – Dawson’s (3 nights), Hinkle’s (3 nights), Knight’s (2 nights), Sherman’s ( ? nights), Eizenga’s (3 nights).

Jan Wright made a motion for the club to pay the deposits for the May campout.  The Casino Queen requires that the Club send the deposit for us to receive the $18.43 per night price.  Bill Ryan seconded the motion.  The motion passed with a vote.  You need to pay Steve your deposit by the March campout if you plan on going in May.

February 8th will be our next gathering.  Dale has called the Executive Inn and reserved a table for us at 5:00 PM.  They will have buffet with Prime Rib for $10.95 each, the drink is not included.  We still have a few campouts open and Randy Knight suggested Twin Rivers Landing in Lesterville, MO.  He will call and get a brochure and details for the February meeting.

Congratulations to Dave and Martha Sue on the purchase of a 30 foot Eagle.  Congratulations to Elsie for her article in the Jafari Hitch.

Jan Wright made a motion to adjourn and everyone seconded the motion!
