| 2001-12 December 2001 Newsletter The 4-Rivers Jayco Club - Flight #9 had its December meeting on the 29th at the Family Life Center of the First Baptist Church in Metropolis, IL. The following members began gathering around 11:00 a.m.: Kyle and Crystal Allbritten with Jordan and Ryan; Odell and Deirdre Allbritten; Jim and Mitzi Borum with Jared; Steve and Judy Dawson; Durwood and Rheitta Eleam; Randy and Vicki Knight; Charlie and Marla McElroy; Bill and Betty Ryan; Bob and Wanda Ray; George and Mary Taylor; Frank and Pat Sherman; Ed and Johnnie Wyatt; Dale and Jan Wright; and visitors Don and Joann Bennett, Bob and Mary Lauderdale, Bob and Patsy Snow, and Jim and Donna Young. After visiting for a short time, a wonderful potluck lunch was shared at noon. Jim Borum led us in a prayer of thanksgiving for the food, our friends, and our safe, happy year of camping. Thanks to those members of First Baptist for allowing us to have our Christmas gathering in their Life Center! After a delicious meal, our business meeting was called to order by our president Bill. He welcomed members and guests. Minutes of the last meeting were approved as read by our secretary, Deirdre. In the absence of our treasurer, Dennie, Deirdre will be collecting the yearly dues. Wanda Ray was reimbursed $5.81, and Dale was reimbursed $10 for items purchased for the club. There was no old business discussed. Under new business, a motion was made and unanimously approved to retain the 2001 officers. They are: President - Bill Ryan Vice-president/Wagon Master - Eugene Burden Second Vice-president/Program and Activities Director - Pat Sherman Assisted by Vicki Knight Secretary - Deirdre Allbritten Treasurer - Dennie Hinkle Serving as co-chaplians will be Jim Borum and Odell Allbritten. Congratulations and thanks! There were corrections to the 2002 membership list: Haleys e-mail is jhaley16@hotmail.com Wyatts, Peters, and Haleys phone area code has been changed to 731 A motion was made and passed for the secretary to send Christmas cards and a special invitation to attend the Christmas party in 2002 to past members. Durwood will get names and addresses for the secretary. Dates and places for our 2002 campouts were discussed. Odell and Deirdre invited everyone to their home for pizza on Saturday, February 2 at 6:00 p.m. The cost of the pizza will be divided among those attending. Jan and Deirdre will bring salad, and everyone else should bring a dessert. Deirdre will furnish the table service and drinks. Please e-mail Deirdre if you plan to attend so she can order the correct amount of pizza. The 2002 campouts will be as follows: March 15-17 Columbus Belmont April 26-28 Canal May 24 - 27 Diamond Lake Owensboro, KY (with Flight #14) June 7-9 Lake Wappapello, MO June 21 - 23 IL State Rally July 19-21 Rend Lake - North Sandusky July 29 - August 2 International Rally, Kitchener, Ontario Canada August 30 - Sept. 1 Current River, MO September 13 - 15 Location open October 25 - 27 Annual Invitational, Hillman Ferry November 22 - 24 Nashville, TN December - Date and location open The Borums will provide the door prize in February. A motion to adjourn was made and approved. The business meeting was followed by a rousing game of Dirty Santa. We all received a great gift!
