January/February 2002 Newsletter

The 4-Rivers Jayco Club - Flight #9 had its January/February meeting on the 2nd at the home of Odell and Deirdre Allbritten in Metropolis, IL. The following members met at 6:00 p.m. for a pizza, salad, and dessert supper followed by a meeting and fellowship: Kyle and Crystal Allbritten with Jordan and Ryan; Odell and Deirdre Allbritten; Jim and Mitzi Borum; Steve and Judy Dawson; John and Cynthia Haley; Dennie and Elsie Hinkle; Randy and Vicki Knight; Bill and Betty Ryan; Bob and Wanda Ray; Frank and Pat Sherman; and Dale and Jan Wright.

Bill called our meeting to order, welcoming everyone. We hope all our "snow birds" are having a great time!

Minutes of the last meeting were approved as read by our secretary, Deirdre. Our treasurer, Dennie, reported a balance of $875.21. If you have not paid your 2002 dues, you may pay them to Dennie at any time.

Under new business, a letter and appreciation plaque was received from the Recreational Club Management Staff thanking us for submitting articles for the Hitch in 2001. The plaque will be displayed at Youngblood’s RV. Also, Deirdre presented information on "The Music Man", a possibility for entertainment for our 2003 rally. We decided to table the rally until later in the year.

Wagonmaster Gene was not present, but a correction must be made to the April campout. Due to Canal Campground not being open in April, our April 26 - 28 campout is tentatively set for KY Dam Village. Gene, was contacted to check into KY Dam Village or Fern Cliffe. He sent an e-mail saying that KY Dam Village thought we would be able to get campsites that weekend. Confirmation of the April campout will be made at the March campout.
