March 2002 Newsletter
The 4-Rivers Jayco Club - Flight #9 had its March campout on the 15th - 16th at Columbus - Belmont State Park in Kentucky. The following member units attended: Odell and Deirdre Allbritten; Jim and Mitzi Borum and Jared; Eugene and Faye Burden; John Haley visited on Saturday; Dennie and Elsie Hinkle; Randy and Vicki Knight; Dave and Martha Sue Peters; Bill and Betty Ryan; Bob and Wanda Ray came for supper on Saturday; George and Mary Taylor; Frank and Pat Sherman; and Dale and Jan Wright. Guests attending were Mary, Austin, and Ryanne Kessel; Jim and Donna Young; and Kenny and Ann Herring who were invited to join and did so after a motion was made and passed. Welcome back! They raise our club membership to twenty-one units. Their address is 3584 Franklin Rd., Metropolis, IL 62960; phone number 618-524-5182; e-mail address herrings@midwest.net .

As units arrived on Friday evening, they were greeted by a few units who had arrived earlier in the week. There was a fire to greet us, but the cold drove most of us in early. Saturday was a cold, dark day, but we all enjoyed a good catch-up visit in the campground’s closed-in pavilion with our little electric heaters humming. The rest of the day was spent on walks around the beautiful park, more visiting, and looking at the new campers of the Taylors and the Herrings. We are all very blessed people to have these beautiful campers to enjoy! We all enjoyed a great supper at Grogan’s Bar-B-Q in Clinton, KY on Saturday evening.

After returning to the campground and gathering in the pavilion, Bill called our meeting to order, welcoming everyone. Minutes of the last meeting were read by our secretary, Deirdre. They were approved as read. Our treasurer, Dennie, reported a balance of $828.72. If you have not paid your 2002 dues, you may pay them to Dennie at any time.

Under new business, everyone was encouraged to consider being the rally coordinator of our 2003 rally. The rally will be discussed at the April campout.

Wagonmaster Gene reported that our April 26 - 28 campout is set for KY Dam Village. If you plan to attend the May 24 - 27 campout at Diamond Lake, you need to let Eugene know immediately so reservations can be made. We will be camping with Flight #14. A motion was made and passed that we will provide and cook breakfast for them. A menu and grocery list will be in the April newsletter. If you will be attending our June 7 - 9 campout at Lake Wappella, you should make your reservation immediately in the Redman Creek East area #55 - 93. Also, make your reservations immediately for our July 19 - 21 campout at Rend Lake in the North Sandusky area on White Oak Loop.
