Flight #9 and Flight #14 held a combined camp out at Diamond Lake, W. Louisville, KY May 14 through 27. Attending from Flight #14 were: Ron & Pat Back, Freymond & Shirley Dennison, Ralph & Julia Fort, Gary Lee, Maurice & Jane Owens, Milton & Gardellan Richards, Iris Woods and Leslie. Flight #9 members present were: Gene & Faye Burden with Jughead & Marilyn Edmondson, Steve & Judy Dawson, Durwood & Rheitta Eleam with Jim, Susan & Audrey Thompson, Dennie & Elsie Hinkle, Bill & Betty Ryan, George & Mary Taylor. Charlie & Marla McElroy came Sunday afternoon on their way home from Cincinnati.

Some members of both clubs arrived early and camped several days. By Friday evening, everyone was set up and settled in around the fire.

On Saturday morning, the men cooked pancakes, bacon and sausage. Flight #14 members were our guests for breakfast. They like pancakes as much as we do.

Except for a late afternoon storm on Saturday, the weather was lovely. There was time for shopping, sightseeing, games, hiking, napping and lots of other things. The area has an abundance of restaurants which we took advantage of.

Pres. Bill Ryan called the business meeting to order at 2 PM on Sunday. Guests were welcomed. Minutes of the April meeting were read and approved. Dennie reported a balance of $908.47 minus $8.99 paid to Durwood for paper plates. Some members have not paid their 2002 dues. The Hinkles are vacationing this summer, so Dennie will turn the books and checks over to Deirdre. We still have Four Rivers caps available.

Old Business: We discussed appointing a Rally Chairman. We will do that at the next meeting when more members are present. We also talked about the costs for entertainment for the Rally. Dennie reported that we spent $150 for the Quartet in 2001.

New Business: Ralph Fort donated scrubbers to clean the grill. Thanks, Ralph! Faye reports that Internet Service that was free will now be charged for. She had 50 megabytes of service that has been cut to 20. She has used 30. The Jayco Site is now blocked. It will cost about $12 per month, payable by credit card. Some suggestions were: to take out pictures and/or early newsletters to keep within the 20 megabytes, to have a club member pay the monthly charge and be reimbursed, and to down load pictures to your own hard drive to view. Faye offered to show us how to do that. Dennie made a motion to delete pictures and old information and see what happens. Motion was seconded by Durwood. Dennie asked about getting Flight #9 flags for members who don’t have them. Steve suggested Silkworm. If anyone knows where or how to get flags made, bring that information to the next meeting.

Wagon Master Report: The next camp out is at Redman Creek, Lake Wappapello , MO The July meeting is at Rend Lake. If you are going to the Labor Day camp out August 30 through Sept 2, the camp wants a $15 deposit per rig. These are full hook ups. It was decided to let Gene send this from club funds and members will pay the club. The September site is still open, the dates are 13-15. Future places to camp discussed were Natchez Trace Park and E. St. Louis at Casino Queen.

Special announcements: Congratulations to the Hinkles who are celebrating a wedding anniversary. Faye thanked the club for flowers sent for Gene’s Mother. The Eleam’s will donate the June door prize. The club policy for Funeral Flowers was reviewed. Immediate family includes spouses, parents and children living at home. Notify Deirdre if flowers are needed. The door prize was donated by the Dawsons and won by George and Mary.

Motion was made by Dennie and seconded to adjourn.
