The Sheltons were on their first campout in their first hard-side camper - a Jay Flight! We are very happy for them and enjoyed having them camp with us. We hope they will join us on a regular basis! The Knights were also camping in their new camper - a Qwest! And the Shermans were driving a new truck! The campers and the truck were all beautiful! We are very happy for all of them! It was a beautiful weekend! We had our business meeting early on Saturday so everyone could get on the River! Following the meeting there were three days of canoeing, floating, swimming, snorkeling, and watching all the afore mentioned from the bank! The Jolly Cone was also a popular spot. Several campers made it a daily activity! Big Springs was a favorite sightseeing trip. One evening, cake and ice cream was furnished by the Knights and served in honor of the Shermans 17th wedding anniversary. Congratulations! It was a wonderful long weekend! At next months campout, the men will cook breakfast for the ladies on Saturday morning. The club will pay for all of the ingredients which will be picked up by Durwood. We will have and Italian potluck on Saturday night. The following have signed up to bring a dish. If your name is not on the list, please bring a dish that no one has signed up to bring. Bread Main Dish Salad Dessert Jan Betty Deirdre Deirdre Mary Jan Pat Judy (Parmesan Chicken) On Saturday morning, Bill called our meeting to order and welcomed our guests. The minutes were approved as read by Deirdre. Substitute treasurer, Deirdre, reports $703.04 in our account (This number is an update to what was reported at our meeting.). She reported that one unit still owes yearly dues, the Wyatts. The Wagonmaster was absent, so the substitute treasurer reported those having reservations to Loretta Lynn's Family Campground on Sept. 13 - 15 owe $22.00 to the club. The following is a list of those who have paid: Dawsons, Taylors, Ryans, Eleams, O. Allbrittens, Knights whose site is being taken by the Rays, Shermans, and Wrights. Those who owe: Herrings, Lauderdales whose site is being taken by the Abletts, and the Wyatts. Eugene has reported that at Loretta Lynn's they only have 50 amp service so you must have a reducer if you have a 30 amp camper. Reservations need to be made for the November campout in Nashville. Everyone should be deciding if they plan to go because Eugene will be making the reservations immediately. Pat, program/activities director, reports that we will not have any special activities at our next campout. A motion was made, seconded, and approved to have a 50-50 raffle from our next campout until our rally with the proceeds to go to the Rally fund. Pat will be in charge. Wanda thanked everyone for their cards and sympathies at the death of her Mother. Under new business, Dale reported the the Great North American RV Rally will be on June 14 - 20, 2003 in Louisville, KY. In old business, our 2003 Rally was discussed. Randy suggested a Blue Grass Band he knows of for $200 for the entertainment. It was suggested that we might add our money to the campgrounds money so as to get some really excellent entertainment, or if the campground's entertainment was going to be very good, we could just use it. Odell will check on how soon the park decides on their entertainment. Betty suggested the Friday night meal could be catered by the Hinkle's daughter, Connie, for $5 per person. It would consist of Bar-B-Que, potato salad, slaw, table service, and drinks. It was suggested that Larry, Darrel, and Darrel could furnish the same meal for $3.25 per person. Bob and Wanda will check with them. The door prize was donated by the Peters, drawn by Wayne Shelton, and won by the O. Allbrittens. The door prize next month will be donated by the Ryans. A motion was made, seconded, and approved to adjourn the meeting. On Sunday morning, Wayne Shelton and Odell lead us in an early worship service so everyone could "hit the water". There was more tubing on Monday morning. Several enjoyed a supper at Lambert's on the way home. It was a great weekend! See you at Loretta Lynn's Ranch in just a few day! Whew! I'm glad I got this newsletter done in time! Deirdre Allbritten, Secretary |
