4-Rivers Jayco, Flight 9
The 4-Rivers Jayco Club – Flight 9 had its April campout at Canal Campground. The following members were in attendance Odell & Deirdre Allbritten, Jim & Mitzi Borum, Steve & Judy Dawson, Durwood & Rheitta Eleam, Kenny & Ann Herring, Dennie & Elsie Hinkle, Randy & Vicki Knight, Charlie & Marla McElroy, Dave & Martha Sue Peters, Norman & Jean Proffitt, Bob & Wanda Ray, Bill & Betty Ryan, Frank & Pat Sherman, George & Mary Taylor, Dale & Jan Wright. Friends who joined us were Eugene & Faye Burden, Bob & Mary Lauderdale, Alan & Staci Singer, Gene & Marion Cavanaugh, & Dennis & Kenna Howell. Friday evening we attempted to enjoy a roaring campfire but the rain kept us at bay. April showers bring May flowers, or so they say. Saturday proved to be a bit better. Some enjoyed the Quilt Show at Grand Rivers & Paducah. Others went fishing, shopping, & some just hung out. I heard there was even a nap or two taken. Saturday evening we held our meeting at the Pavilion by the boat ramp. It was a pleasant evening to be outside and watch a beautiful sunset. Dale called the business meeting to order and welcomed our guests. The minutes were read and accepted. Steve gave a treasurer’s report. We have a balance of $274.12 in the general fund with a total of $434.24 in the checking account. If you still owe your $10 assessment fee, please pay Steve. There was no old business or new business. Under Rally business, the Hitch says our deadline is May 13. Martha Sue said she needs to get the T-shirts ordered. Faye has placed the Rally registration form on the Web site. It was decided to buy plastic aprons for serving in. If you need a Rally badge, please let Dale know. Wagon Master Report: Our next campout is May 23-26 at the Casino Queen in East St. Louis. Directions: On I-64 stay in the LEFT lane, you will exit at the 3rd Street exit, then turn Right at River Park Drive and follow the signs. July 25-27 we will be at Piney Campground – Land between the Lakes. August 29–September 1 will at Canal Campground. The new loop is full already, so we will be in the woods loop again. September 12–14 – Fern Clyffe in Goreville, IL October 10-12 Hillman’s Ferry November 14-16 Two Rivers Park in Nashville, TN December 20 will be out Potluck. The Door Prize was furnished by the Wright’s and won by the Knight’s. The 50/50 drawing netted $43.00 Dale Wright won $21.50. After the meeting several sat around the camp fire, while some did some crafting. We may do some crafting at every campout. If you have a craft you would like to share, come and join us. On Sunday morning Jim Borum led us in Worship under the new pavilion by the lake. God has certainly been good to us. Jim brought to our attention how much we owe God and our fellow man. The afternoon brought several people making their reservations for Labor Day. Most packed up and headed home. Others were set in to enjoy a few more days of camping. Just how many men does it take to fix Dale’s suburban?? And just what needed all than attention? Till next month Vicki Knight Secretary
