The 4-Rivers Jayco Club – Flight 9 held our May campout at the Queens Casino Campground in East St. Louis.  The following members were in attendance:   Steve & Judy Dawson, Dennie & Elsie Hinkle, Randy & Vicki Knight, Bill & Betty Ryan, Frank & Pat Sherman, George & Mary Taylor with Grandson Cody, Dale & Jan Wright.  Friends who joined us were Eugene & Faye Burden, Don & Dot Eizenga, Ed Mount, & Dave & Charlotte Sheehan.   Most everyone had arrived by Friday evening, except Dale & Jan.  They attended Chelsea’s first dance recital.  I did notice that a rather large motor home had a Jayco license plate in the front window.  Dale suggested that we paint over the Monaco sign with the Jayco design.

It seems that a few of our members decided to tour downtown St. Louis with their campers in tow.  Hats off to the Taylor’s and the Ryan’s.  I am certainly glad that I had been downtown before and didn’t need to go with my camper.

Saturday morning we all enjoyed a delicious breakfast at the buffet.  There were omelets, waffles, scrambled eggs, etc.  You know all the usual buffet items.  After stuffing ourselves at breakfast we held our monthly meeting at the campground.

Dale called the meeting to order.  Vicki read the minutes from the last meeting, there were no corrections and the minutes were accepted.  Steve then gave the treasures report.  We have a total of $ 274.12 in the checking account.  There is $1043.73 in the Rally fund and $283.00 for T-shirts.  The treasure’s report was accepted.  There was no old or new business, so we moved on to rally business.  We need 22 units to break even.  The cost per person is broken down as follows:  Breakfast $9.69, Friday dinner $ 4.00, Camping (per unit) $28.80 (2 nights), for a total of $42.49 per person.  The entertainment is $200.00 and the prizes will cost around $200.  We will use the same games as the last rally.  If you were in charge of a game at the last rally you will be in charge of it again.  If you can’t do the game you were in charge of, please let Pat Sherman know.  Also if you have a wagon, please bring it for the wagon races.  The Club will furnish desserts and chips on Friday night.  So bring your favorite dessert and a bag of chips with you to the rally.  It you have anything to place in the bags for the rally please let Betty Ryan know.  We will need 50-60 items for 25-30 bags.  On Thursday we will need everyone to help setup and to bring campers from Youngblood’s RV Center.  The Eleam’s, Taylor’s, and Peter’s will bring their canopies.  Here is the agenda for the weekend:           Friday 10:00 AM registration begins, 6:00 PM Dinner is served, 7:00 PM Kitchen Band, 8:00 PM Campfire.  Saturday – 8:00 AM Breakfast at KY Dam Convention Center, 10:00 AM Seminars by Youngblood’s RV Center, 1:00 PM Games for the whole family, 7:00 PM Bluegrass Band, 8:00 PM Campfire. Sunday 7:00 AM Continental Breakfast at the tent followed by Sunday Morning Worship Center at 8:30.  The Club has received a Thank You note from Pat Sherman for the gift we sent in memory of her Mother.  The Hinkle’s have a new cell number (618) 201-8404.  The meeting was adjourned.  The 50/50 drawing netted $33.00.  The Knight’s won $16 and the club got $17.00.  The door prize was furnished by the Proffit’s and won by the Sherman’s.  The Ray’s will furnish the door prize in June.  Saturday afternoon we all enjoyed the different sights of St. Louis.  The Wright’s, Ryan’s & Hinkle’s rode the Metro-link to Union Station and then to the Airport.  George, Mary, & Cody visited the Zoo. The Sherman’s & Knight’s visited the Botanical Gardens.  The Eizenga’s visited the gambling boat.  Don seems to have lots of luck on the quarter slots!  Just ask him how much he won.  Eugene & Faye stayed at the camper; it seems that Faye got a cold.  What a weekend to be sick.  Saturday evening most of us met at the campground and rode the Metro-link over to Lacede’s Landing.  We enjoyed dinner at Hannagan’s.  After dinner most of the group visited the President’s Casino on the river, while Vicki & Frank “said they were going to the Arch”, but who knows where they really went.  Future Campouts:  July 25-27 we will be at Piney Campground – Land between the Lakes.
August 29–September 1 will at Canal Campground.  The new loop is full already, so we will be in the woods loop again.
