We held our June campout at the Jellystone Campground near Mammoth Cave, KY.  Those in attendance were Tim, Melissa, Katie, Michael, & Jennifer Armstong (new members)Roger Barrell & Kaye Fraisher with Silvana (from Columbia), Jim, Mitzi, Jared, & Jessica Borum, Steve & Judy Dawson with Danielle, Durwood & Rheitta Eleam, John Haley, Kenny & Ann Herring, Randy, Vicki Knight, Bob & Wanda Ray, Charles & Ellen Rice with Ellen's Mother, Bill & Betty Ryan, Frank & Pat Sherman, & Dale & Jan Wright with Michelle, Daniel, Chelsea, & Damon Harris & Eli O'Saile.  Guests joining us were Eugene & Faye Burden, Don & Dot Eizenga and friends from Flight 14 Iris Woods & Jerry, Doc & Joyce Barnes, Ron & Pat Back, Jane & Reese Owens, Julia & Ralph Fort.
Thursday afternoon the Knight's & Sherman's arrived. The Rays were there on Thursday as well, but they were staying at their Coast to Coast Campground.  Everyone else trickled in on Friday. It was very warm & humid.  Some cooled off in the pool.  We did occasionally have some trouble with the electricity, but we managed.  We all enjoyed a beautiful camp fire on Friday evening (but no one was sitting very close).  I developed a new campfire treat.  You'll have to come to a campout for a sample.
Several of us took tours of the cave on Saturday.  Jim & Jared Borum, Frank Sherman, Roger Barrall & Silvana, Randy & I felt brave & took the 4 ½ hour tour.  It started raining Saturday morning and later in the day there was a tornado near the cave.  But most of us missed it as we were underground.  It cleared off later in the evening.  Some enjoyed the boat ride on the Green River.
Most of us had dinner on Saturday night at the Saraha Steak house.  It was delicious (at least mine was, Frank had some trouble with his steak).  We held our meeting after dinner at the campground  and WELCOME new members Tim, Melissa, Katie, Michael, & Jennifer Armstrong.  Tim works with Dale, Jim, Odell, & Don.  He is training to take over Don's job.  I feel sorry for someone who has to put up with that bunch.  Dale sold the new flags, they look very nice.
Bill Ryan said that Fort Definace is under water right now.  We voted to go to Fort Massac if the water is still over the campground.  John Haley opposed that vote.  Bill said he would keep us posted.  In April, a couple happened to camp with us by chance.  Mike & Melinda Ford.  They do contest Bar-B-Que and will be cooking for us at the July campout.  The club is buying the meat and we will bring everything else.  I have the following down for July-Borum's(4), Dawson's, Eleam's, Eizenga's, Haley's, Knight's(4), Ray's, Sherman's, for a total of 20.  Please let Dale know if you are planning on attending and how many will be with you.
Kaye had information on the Balloon Festival, Aug 20-22 in Centralia.  We are camping at Coles Creek and if you are planning on going you will need to make your own reservations at 1-877-444-6777 or reserveusa.com.  Kaye will have 3 day passes for $5 each at the campground for the balloon festival.  This is going to be fun, I can't wait.  She said to be sure & bring your lawn chairs, flashlight & bug spray.  The 1st liftoff will be around 5:30 Friday evening & we need to arrive by 3:30.  The best way to get to the campground is take I-57 to HWY 50 West in Salem.  Try to avoid going through Centrilia as it will be very congested.
The 50/50 was won by Durwood, he received $16 & the Club got $17.  The door prize was furnished by the Hinkle's and won by Roger.
Next month's door prize will be furnished by the Sherman's.  The August door prize will be furnished by the McElroy's.

Sunday morning Randy lead us in our Church service with Mitzi leading the singing.  Everyone headed for home sometime on Sunday.  The Dawson', Herring's, & Wright's choose to wait the rain out in Cracker Barrell.  Randy & I visited my Aunt in Oakland untill the storm passed.
Our next campout is July 16-18 at Fort Defiance near Cario, IL. Unless it's under water & then we will be at Fort Massac.  Happy Camping!
Till next month Vicki
