Friday was cloudy, rainy, & windy. Not a good evening for hot air balloons. But a few balloons were daring enough to inflate for a little while. Saturday & Sunday were beautiful, great weather, not to hot or windy. Saturday & Sunday mornings the balloons did a target drop, which was fun to watch. On Saturday evening the balloons inflated in the park & after dusk they all fired up which made them glow like light bulbs. It was beautiful.
Sunday morning we held our meeting. There was lots of discussion about the Rally.
Things are shaping up nicely. Thanks to Dale for all his hard work. I think we will have lots of fun.
Daniel was being a good brother & pushing the girls on the merry go round & his foot got caught.
There was a dash to the emergency room, eventually they found out it was a bad sprain.
Hope you feel better soon!!! For lunch Kaye & Roger took us to a buffet (imagine that) called Rice & Fries.
They had American & Oriental food. We all ate too much, but those coconut macaroons were too good to pass up.
Sunday afternoon we headed home for some rest. (Getting up around 5:00 – 6:00 AM is to early for a camping weekend).
It was lots of fun and some of us plan on attending next year.
The 50/50 was won by Dot Eizengal, she received $27 & the Club got $27.
The door prize was furnished by the McElroy’s and won by Bob & Wanda Ray.
Next month’s door prize will be furnished by the Rice’s and Octobers door prize will be
furnished by the Kyle Allbritten’s. November’s door prize will be furnished by the Knight’s.
Our next campout is at John James Audobon State Park in Henderson, KY. The campground has 68 sites
with water & electric only. We are planning on eating out Saturday night. Charlie & Marla know a
good restaurant downtown that can accomadate a large group.
A deposit of $18.50 for our November campout will be due at the September campout.
And don’t forget our Fall campout is October 29-31. So start getting those costumes & decorations in order.
And don’t forget the pumpkins!!!
Happy Camping!
Till next month Vicki
