4 Rivers Jayco April 2005 Newsletter

Even though the weather was cold, rainy & windy we had a good turnout for our Ferne Clyffe campout! A few Early Birds had two days of good weather – glad for ya!

Randy & Vicki, the club sends a BIG THANK YOU for opening your church’s fellowship hall to us.  This made our Ham & Beans supper much more enjoyable and allowed us to visit and play games. Those attending were: Odell& Deirdre Allbritten, Jim & Mitzi Borum, Steve & Judy Dawson, Durwood & Rheitta Eleam, John & Cynthia Haley, Dennie & Elsie Hinkle, son & family, Tommy & Heidi, Randy & Vicki Knight & son Dustin, Steve & Lynne O’Saile, & Drew, Bob & Wanda Ray, Bill & Betty Ryan (supper) , Liale & Frieda Sellers, Frank Sherman visited, George & Mary Taylor,  grandson Cody & his friend Quade  Klein, Dale & Jan Wright. Friends of Flight 9: Bob & Mary Lauderdale (supper), Glen & Rosann Lingle, Norman & Jean Proffitt (supper), Jim & Donna came by on Thursday for a visit.  Always glad to see our friends!

Late in the day on Friday, before the rain set in, a few of the campers checked out the trails and the beautiful waterfalls. Also, the kids seemed to enjoy riding their bikes and having fun on the playground equipment.

Not only did the kids brave the weather on Saturday some of the adults were “die hards” too!  Can’t prove it by me (I wasn’t there), but it was rumored that some sat around the campfire in the rain!

Finally, Sunday it quit raining; sun came out, but still cool and windy. Some fooled themselves that it was warm and decided to have an outside potluck of left over Ham & Beans, Grilled Chicken & Bar-B-Q Ribs.

For the May campout the women have agreed to have the men cook breakfast for the women & kids. For simplicity, the menu has changed to Bacon, Sausage, Pancakes, and Biscuits & Gravy. For those of you bringing biscuits, remember the club does not have any toaster ovens, so please cook them at your camper.  For those that are not on the sign-up list but plan to attend, please bring something that will even out the mix. Cooks, report for duty at 7:00 a.m.
