Jayco 4- Rivers Flight 9 had the November campout at Two
Rivers Campground in Nashville,
TN. As Betty says, “ this is our
“City Camping” campout.” Those in
attendance were Steve & Judy Dawson, Dale & Jan Wright and Jan’s
sisters Carol & Charlotte, Durwood & Rheitta Eleam, Frieda & Liale
Sellers, Randy & Vicki Knight, Kaye Frashier and Joe; Bill & Betty
Ryan, Dennie & Elsie Hinkle, Charles & Ellen Rice, and new members Wes & Ellie
McRae. Welcome Wes & Ellie we look forward to lots of
campouts with you. Friends of Flight
9: Bob
Snow, his daughter Bobbie Jean & grandchildren Tyler
& Tiffany and Don & Dot Eizenga.
Some arrived early on Friday to get in a few hours of
shopping before we all went to the Cock
of the Walk for fish & shrimp. Saturday
morning several went to Opryland Hotel for breakfast and some to the I-Hop.
After breakfast we had our business meeting at the Hotel. Some confusion to the designated meeting
place, but eventually we all got there except for a few and they went to see a
movie. Maybe they couldn’t find an
inexpensive parking spot and decided a movie would be cheaper. After the
meeting it was time for the men to go to their favorite store – Camping
World. Jan, hope you didn’t lose too
much valuable shopping time waiting on Dale. Saturday evening for dinner
several went to 101st Airborne Restaurant. Delicious meal! Kay thanks for suggesting this unique
restaurant even though you & and the Knights got a better offer.. After dinner the Ryan’s, the Sellers, &
the Hinkle’s toured downtown Nashville.
Guy’s say we didn’t get lost, but Bill had to make a U-turn, luckily we didn’t get
a ticket! Thanks to Betty, Bill only ran
one red light and sat through one green light to make-up for the red light he
ran! Sunday morning, Steve & Judy
left for Florida
to spend Thanksgiving with their son; Dale chauffeured them to the airport.
Durwood had a relaxing afternoon watching NASCAR while Rheitta & the kids
went shopping and the Hinkle’s made a trip to the Pottery Barn. It doesn’t seem
possible that another camping season is over.
Liale & I have really enjoyed this past year making new friends and
“thanks” to Dale getting me elected secretary the name’s and faces became familiar much quicker.
Our next event is our Christmas Potluck December 3rd
at Bethany Bible Church.
See directions below. We will begin gathering at 11:00 a.m. with the potluck
meal being served at 12 noon. Plates, cups, silverware will be provided. Each person is to bring a $10.00 gift to be
exchanged during our famous “Dirty Santa” game. Men bring a gift for a man and
women bring a gift for a woman and anyone bringing children make sure they have
a gift to open. Our December meeting will also include planning next year’s
campouts and election of officers.
November door prize was drawn by Bob
Snow’s grandson, Tyler and won by the Knight’s. The Wright’s
donated the door prize. We did not have
a 50/50. No door prize for December.
In last month’s newsletter I incorrectly listed Janice as
Lorin’s friend, her name is actually Jane Treece.
