Finally, camping season has begun! Nathan Bedford Forrest State Park near Eva, TN was the location for our March campout and the weather co-operated at least until Sunday morning. We had (8) families attending:  Judy & Steve Dawson & granddaughter Danielle, Dale & Jan Wright with their grandchildren Chelsea & Daniel and daughter Michele,  Bob & Wanda Ray, Ed & Johnnie Wyatt, Charles & Ellen Rice, Wes & Ellie McRae, Frieda & Liale Sellers, & John & Cynthia Haley. Tim, Michael & Jennifer Armstrong spent the day hiking & joined us for supper on Saturday night.  We were glad to also have Dave & Martha Sue for supper.  Can’t forget about our SOB’s Don & Dot Eizenga; we are always glad to see them!

By 5:30 p.m. Friday everyone had arrived, got set-up and found their way to the Ray’s roaring fire!  At 8:00 p.m. we headed to shelter one for an informative & fun lesson about Owls!  Thanks Cynthia for putting this together!  Saturday was a beautiful sun shiny day and everyone went in different directions.  Several toured the museum and Charles & Ellen went to see their grandbabies, can’t blame them! Frieda & Liale ran up & down the road trying to find a camera battery, but still managed to take in the museum. Saturday night all went to the Blackberry Patch  restaurant in Camden for supper.  John is probably still mad; his order was the first to go in and the last to come out!  I think the waitress tried to punish him for making her take several orders to the cook before she wanted too!  After our dinner & monthly meeting we all headed back for a campfire at Dale & Jan’s.   Judy provided us with a lesson in getting rid of clover – just pour sand in the yard and it will kill the clover and anything else that tries to grow.  She said that’s the method Steve uses! Steve denies it, so I don’t know whose right.  Sure did have fun listening to the banter between them two..  Of course, Cynthia & John shared some funny stories too.  Sunday morning we all began packing up as it was too chilly to do anything else. Only three weeks to Rend Lake! Look forward to seeing the ones that couldn’t be there this time.  Maybe we will even have some of our snowbirds there.

Steve has asked us to come with our “thinking caps” on for the April meeting. We will have an initial discussion of where, when, theme, format, etc of our 2007 rally.

Ira Kaye has accepted the activities director position as Lynne had to resign as she is not sure how many campouts they will be attending this year.  Ira Kaye, we are glad you volunteered and sure you will do a fine job.  Steve & Lynne, hope things change so you can attend several campouts!
