Don’t know the exact number of years, but it has been several since the club has descended on to Pennyrile State Park, but “we’re back”!. Those attending were Kaye Fraisher & Joe Fulton, Steve & Judy Dawson, Durwood & Rheitta Eleam, John & Cynthia Haley, Robert & Deborah Heisel, Randy & Vicki Knight, Charlie & Marl McElroy, Wes & Ellie McRae, Bob & Wanda Ray, Charles & Ellen Rice, Liale & Frieda Sellers, George & Mary Taylor, Dale & Jan Wright, Char & Jim Cool.  Friends of Flight 9:  Eugene & Faye Burden & Don & Dot Eizenga.

The “early bird’s” Taylor’s & Burden’s arrived on Wednesday and the Sellers’ and Eizenga’s arrived on Thursday. . On Friday (11) arrived; some during a “nice” rain storm. With the newly instituted reserve system check-in caused much confusion as sites were switched or already taken. According to the park computer the Haley’s had already checked in and left a week before! Oh well – we made it.

Thursday Gene & George took in a round of golf at the Pennyrile course. A roaring (sometimes) campfire was started on Thursday and ran through Sunday!  Dot fixed (4) pies (John thought they were all his) and served them up at the Friday night campfire.  Thanks Dot. She is one pie baking SOB!  Liale had to take care of Secretary duties as she was committed to a Tupperware party in town.

Our men cooked a delicious sausage and pancake breakfast Saturday morning. Sure is nice to get out of bed and head to the table!  Thanks guys! After breakfast we scattered! Some went bike riding and others finally finished the Rungo tournament from the April campout (. Steve was our winner – congratulations). Of course, we can’t leave out shopping!   Frieda, Vicki & Ellie had an exciting paddle boat adventure. They got within 10 feet of seeing the other side of the Pennyrile Lake dam!  We were all treated to a parade of motorcycles numbering around 130+.  (We hid the women and children). Saturday afternoon brought us all back to the campfire and Faye provided entertainment with a comedy CD.  After a while Dot thought we had had enough foolishness and brought out her newly purchased learning “computer’.  Don’t know how much we learned, but sure had lots of laughs.  Playing hard and using your brain works-up a big appetite, so at 6:00 p.m. we headed to the Pennyrile Lodge for a delicious meal and our monthly meeting.

During the monthly meeting a committee of three was formed to find a location for the 2007 Rally.  The committee is made up of Charlie McElroy, Steve Dawson & Liale Sellers.

Sunday morning before our church service several got together and fixed a delicious country breakfast.  Then it was time to start breaking camp and head home.  I don’t know about you all, but we sure had a good time!

Oops, I almost forgot!   At the New Harmony campout there will be a Saturday potluck for any of those not eating out.
