Hot, humid, & swarms of mosquitoes would best describe our Reelfoot Lake campout, but it did not put a damper on the (9) rigs that showed up.  Those attending were: Tim & Melissa Armstrong, Katie, Michael & Jennifer, Durwood & Rheitta Eleam, John & Cynthia Haley, Wes & Ellie McRae, Bob & Wanda Ray, Charles & Ellen Rice, Liale & Frieda Sellers, Dale & JanWright. Ed & Johnnie Wyatt came Saturday morning and spent the day with us. Friends of Flight 9:  Don & Dot Eizenga joined us for supper.  Visitors: Ben & Jean Hinkle (Dennie’s brother)

Friday night we sat around anti-mosquito flaming buckets.  Finally at 9:00 the mosquitoes won and we all headed to our rigs. Saturday morning with help from several men & women the Sellers’ cooked a sausage, scrambled eggs, hash browns & toast breakfast.  Miss Ellie topped off the breakfast with scrumptious delicious homemade cinnamon rolls. After breakfast several played Rungo.

Saturday Wanda arranged an afternoon Reelfoot Lake boat cruise for the group. We saw lots of Great Blue Heron, Egrets & Cormorants and beautiful Cypress trees and their “knees”.  The ranger explained that the “knees” breathes for the roots.  Boyettes fed us well for our Saturday evening meal. Cynthia said, “She thought this was the best meal she had ever had at any of our campouts”. I might add the onion rings were as good as Ellen said they would be.  After supper we headed back to the campground, sprayed ourselves with “Deet” and visited until the mosquitoes won again and at 9:00 headed to our rigs.

Sunday morning we woke up to a nice rain shower & more humidity. By 1:30 p.m. we headed home.  Giant City campout is in (12) days and just maybe we will get lucky and have cooler weather.
