Diamond Lake near Owensboro, Ky. was THE place to be the first weekend of June! Talk about fun in the sun……..we had some FUN! Chelsea , granddaughter of Dale and Jan Wright, kicked off the excitement with a splash Friday. She was riding her bike close to the lake when the pet carp wanted her to come in and play. Chelsea obliged and into the lake she went…..bike and all. Needless to say, she gave everyone quite a scare. Grandpa thought they were going to have to get a wrecker to get that bike out of the water. Chelsea later fed the fish and was pretty shocked when she saw the size and number of the carp she had been swimming with. All she could say was, ‘’Oh my goodness!’’

Saturday was another fun filled day with ice cream sundaes, bingo, and of course THE FAST AND FURIOUS. The heat was on at the go cart track when  Frieda and Vickie went out first to show the men how it was done. Vickie took a sharp turn and POP went her tire. Next was the Fab 4. Randy Knight, Liale Sellers, Charlie McElroy, and Joe Fulton. Boy what a race! It was Randy on the inside with Charlie coming up on his tail! Liale and Joe were closing in when BAM! Charlie takes out Liale and spins Liale’s car around. The boys almost got in trouble for being rowdy on the track but they got it together enough to finish the race. Dale Wright, Vickie Knight and Jim ‘’the’’Cool got in on the action for the third race. Dale had an ornery grin on his face every time he passed another car. However, if facial expressions alone could win a race, then Randy Knight beat everyone hands down. One race track wasn’t enough for these speed demons. Even Chelsea got the racing bug. She got in her little red dune buggy and showed the big kids how it was done. Later on some of those ‘’big kids’’ were on her track also.

Our next camp out will be at the Union County Fairgrounds in Sturgis, Ky. July 6-8. We hope to see you there for a weekend if family fun.

The Taylors brought the June door prize. It was won by Pat Sherman. The Shermans will supply the July door prize. The 50\50 was won by Jim’’the’’Cool.
